Could this be just the right storage space for a spinning wheel? That's what I'm wondering. I mean one of the folding, collapsible type, of course. It's a very odd space – only 14" wide and 24" deep -- that runs from floor to ceiling in my new apartment. See, over there on the far left, just before you get to the window. I think the architects figured out what components they wanted to include along that wall, found themselves a foot or so short once they'd finished the desk/cabinet unit, and just said "oh, well."
Any folding wheel owners out there? Would one fit? Height is clearly not a problem. Depth not so much either I would think (two feet is pretty good). But 14" wide??? Could a wheel fold up that flat? I don't own a wheel at the moment, but if this strange little space would hold one, I would feel that it was Fate giving me a kick in the pants. "Go buy a wheel," says Fate, "you know you want one. And, look, it wouldn't take up any extra space."
Opinions?

Hmmm, I'm going to have to go measure my Traddie, but I tend to think that it would fit there, and it's not even a folding wheel. I'd say it's definitely Fate whispering in your ear...
Welcome back, Woolie! It looks like your move went well, maybe very well if it lead to a spinning wheel. Sorry, I have no experience with them, but I just have a feeling that one would fit in that space.
I'm always a fiber-equipment enabler, so if you think the space means you should get a wheel to fill it - that probably is exactly why that space is there!!
I have a weird tall nook in my studio and it's currently overflowing with tall things that like to lean in there - so if you don't make your tall space into a wheel-storage den, who knows what will take residence?!

Welcome back! I hope your move went well! I don't have a spinning wheel, either, but I bet one would fit in that perfect space!! You could then put some little shelves in above it to store roving etc. Perfect!! :)

Oh, I hope you are doing well-moving is hard! I have an Ashford Joy and it is only 11" wide with the flyer on and only 7" without it so you have lot's of room! It is a great first wheel-I am helping you yet?
Hey, glad to see you again. It would definitely fit a holded Lendrum and possibly and unfolded one. It sure will hold a lot of roving! Show us the rest of your digs. Inquiring minds want to know :^)
I'm not a spinner, but that space looks made for a wheel. It also looks like a great space for stash yarn, in case you change your mind.
Good luck in your new apartment!
Happy to hear you're almost settled in your new apartment. Strange space. I also have an Ashford Joy and I'm sure it would fit fine.
Use that area for your stash storage. Wheels are to special to store in a little nook or cranny. Leave them out for everyone to see and admire. I have one in my den and one in my living room. When people stop by and see them they are fascinated with the wheels. Just my opinion.
Ooo, ooo, ooo! I know! I know! [*She cries out, jumping up and down and waving her hand wildly to be recognized*] Try a little folding loom in that cubby! Like a Wolf Pup.
